why does everyone say she is rough!? i think she has excellent animal handling skills. she’s firm yet gentle and she has control at all times. cats are wiggly and you need to scruff them its not cruel and it doesn’t hurt them. this is an excellent video on cat grooming. i work at a vet and i have been rougher with wiggly cats without hurting them, by comparison she really is gentle. i loved this video

It does look rough but your not hurting the cats. We have many matted cats come into my rescue, if we cant groom out we clipper shave out, esp underneath them, we have had some real agressive ones and you have no choice to scruff them anyway. You have to make sure you get right through the coats.

Does she have matts? My cat went to the groomer who got as much out as she could in two short sessions then the rest had to be removed at the vets under sedation.
What I do is groom every day at least once but not for so long that he gets annoyed. He always gets his favourite treats after.

I have two persians …
I have two persians and no one needs to think that this is abuse. One of my cats hyperventalates when she is groomed which is very dangerous and the other is old and surley so this truly is the best option! It is also cooler for them in the summer!

Yeah she is ruff for sure but she does this all the time. Most cats will not put p with this unless they get groomed all the time. Gizmo is a great one for the vid obviously. She gets it done. Long and the short of it.

Why did the groomer brush ‘downwards’ under the cats neck? I was always told to brush upwards to the chin so it doesnt pull its skin. This is the most rough groomer I have seen for a long time. Honest- I know some VIP groomers.

Thank you for this video! I am new persian owner. My cat got matted because I was too nervous to really groom underneath. I ended up having her get the lion cut so i could start over. I am learning now how to groom her the right way and prevent any major matts from forming.
