I have an interview there on Monday for a pet care specialist position.
What exactly do you do?
Do you like it?
Give me some pros and cons.
Please tell me about the dress code, as well.
Also, what was your starting pay? I need to know what to ask for lol.
Thank you!
You will mostly just help customers. Depending on what your available hours are you might open the department in the morning or close at night. If you don’t work either of those shifts then you might do midday. With the midday shift you will be cleaning cages on the days they are cleaned. Other then that you will be helping customers. You will also be selling animals and telling people about them and the care. It really helps to do your own research on the animals that you have.
I close a lot and it can get fairly boring and repetitive. But I like it. Every once and a while you will get a customer that you see regularly and who gets to know you. I can’t really think of any pros. My cons are that some of the customers think they know everything. I’ve also become allergic to the guinea pigs and their hay.
Dress code it the same as the rest of the store. You will get the dark blue Petsmart shirt along with your name tag. You then have to get the pants and a black belt and black shoes.
My starting pay was about 9 dollars.
