i was wondering if it really works beacause my dog is a barker and if it is not dandres.

I don’t like ones that supposedly go off automatically when your dog barks, because in my experience, they are also triggered when next door’s dogs bark, a bird squawks or a door slams… and you end up with a neurotic dog who doesn’t know why this high pitched noise keeps happening…

Better are the bark collars which are triggered by a remote control – it means more work on the owner’s part, but they don’t tend to go off at random like the others do – and the dog very quickly learns which behaviour creates the unpleasant noise. I used one which also vibrated – and my young barker was a different dog within a couple of days. These days he wears the collar on walks, but I haven’t replaced the batteries for months…. so it doesn’t actually work, but I never need to use it anymore.

I recently got a job as a Pet Care Associate.. my manager told me that I would get a big book to learn what each animal needs and stuff (I have to wait for the drug test and all that to come back first). I was wondering what all my training would entail and how big is this book and stuff.. Thanks!

At my location we got small manuals. There are about five of them that cover the animals in the store: small pets I & II, reptiles, birds, and aquatics. They consist of little fill-in-the-blank type exercises. You’ll have to run around the store and try to find different products.
It’s all very tedious, but it familiarizes you with the products that the store carries, and educates you on the animals.

I live in Lawrence and i want to be a pet groomer when i get out of high school to hopefully someday own my own pet grooming salon. if anyone knows of one near here or atleast just in kansas please tell. as much info possible. thank you.

Hi Jolene…consider ringing some of the area groomers to learn if there are grooming schools nearby. The groomers would be the best resource to learn about the schools.
